Frequently Asked Questions
-
Gestalt therapy focuses on awareness, presence, and what's happening for you right now, in your thoughts, emotions, and body, rather than analysing problems from a distance. As awareness grows, patterns that once felt fixed often begin to shift, opening up more choice and clarity in how you respond to life.

I work with individuals and groups, from the teenage years upwards. I don't work with acute crisis presentations or severe mental health conditions requiring intensive medication support. If that's you, I'm happy to help point you toward more suitable care.

Reach out via the contact page. We’ll start with an initial conversation to see whether I'm a good fit for what you're looking for, including whether online or in-person sessions suit you best. From there, I'll book you in.

Sessions are $160 per therapy hour (50 mins). Payment details are provided at your first session.

Both. In person, I see clients across several consulting rooms; we'll work out what's most convenient based on where you're located. Online sessions are held via Zoom. I will email you a calendar invite and Zoom link.
-
Sessions run for approximately 50 minutes. Frequency varies by person and need: weekly, fortnightly, or monthly are all common, and we'll agree on what suits you.
-
It depends on what you're working on. Some people come for a short block, around 6 to 12 sessions, to work through a specific challenge or build foundational self-awareness. Others stay longer, often 20 to 30+ sessions over 6 to 24 months, when the work involves more complex or longstanding patterns. We'll check in periodically to reflect on progress and decide together what continuing to work together looks like.
-
No. As a psychotherapist, I'm not able to offer Medicare rebates under a Mental Health Care Plan. Sessions are out-of-pocket only. It's worth checking with your private health fund directly, as some funds offer rebates for psychotherapy depending on your level of cover.

Yes. What you share stays private, with three exceptions: if there's a risk of harm to you or someone else, if I'm legally required to disclose something, or where I discuss cases anonymously in clinical supervision (standard practice for all therapists, to ensure quality of care).
